Scrap Metal HMS-1

The Scrap Metal HMS-1 will be clean scrap without slag, dross, trash, wood, plastic, alloy, prohibited goods, whole sets of machine and useable parts for machines, cast iron, motor turning blocks, engine blocks, war and explosive or armour plated materials, excessive rust, corrosion, dirt, mud or wastes. Maximum harmless impurities will be less than 0.1%.

The HMS-1 will be free from toxic chemicals, radioactive materials, inflammables, explosives, organic matters originated from animals or plants with danger of epidemic diseases and medical waste, bombs, arms, ammunition, mines, shell cartridges, sealed containers, gas cylinder, explosive shells or explosive materials in any form. The Scrap Metal will be totally free from admixtures such as lubricants, grease, rubber, plastics, asphalts and other impurities and non-metals.

The scrap will be conforming to the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI( Number 1 Heavy Melting Steel (HMS-1) max length 1.5m x max width 0.6m x minimum thickness 6mm or as specified by the Buyer in writing prior to the first and subsequent shipments. The scrap consists of a mix of mill scrap (stampings, cuttings, bars, etc.), Industrial scrap (nuts, bolts, misc. pieces, etc), auto and truck frames and bodies, railroad scrap (wheels, axles, parts of locomotives and carriages, etc.), ship scrap (fittings, plate pieces, parts), construction scrap (plate, bars, angle pieces, rods, steel pipe, etc.) and miscellaneous commercial scrap (appliance casings, frames and parts, etc.).

Steel scrap defined as HMS 1 in an under codes 200 through 206, as will be defined in the contract. Non-metal impurities total 1% (one percent) or less and the scrap metal will have a certificate issued by SGS stating that no radioactive materials are included in the delivery.

HMS 1 - IRSI Code 200

Heavy melting steel. Wrought iron and/or steel scrap ¼ inch or steel scrap ¼ inch and over in thickness. Individual pieces not over 60 x 24 inches (charging box size) prepared in a manner to insure compact charging.

HMS 1 - IRSI Code 201

Heavy melting steel 3 feet x 18 inches. Wrought iron or steel scrap ¼ inch over in thickness individual pieces not over 36 inches x 18 inches (charging box size) prepared in a manner to insure compact charging. Page 2 HMS-l and HMS-ll

HMS 1 - IRSI Code 202

Heavy melting steel 5 feet x 18 inches. Wrought iron or steel scrap 1.4 inch and over in thickness individual pieces not over 60 inches x 18 inches (charging box size) prepared in a manner to insure compact charging.

HMS 2

HMS 2 - IRSI Code 203

Heavy melting steel. Wrought iron or steel scrap, black and galvanized. 1/8 inch and over in thickness, charging box size to include material not suitable as No.1 heavy melting steel. Prepared in a manner to ensure compact charging.

Same as IRSI 203 but max size 36x18 inches.

HMS 2 - IRSI Code 205

Same as IRSI 204 but free of sheet iron or thin gauged material.

Same as IRSI 204, but max size 60 x 18 inches.
